I’m not a big fan on design contests. They are usually unfair and abusive of the entrant. The results are usually mediocre for everyone. There are lots of losers, only one winner and the judges wish they’d never agreed to participate. Bad PR for all. But THIS years NYC Condom package design contest has resulted in a really brilliant solution. The last package design was based on the subway graphics, also high recognition icons.
How many cities produce their own condom package? 6 million condoms get distributed for free in NYC. Let’s face it, New York, the city that never sleeps, is a one busy place.
